Dr. Candace Wakefield

Dr. Candace Wakefield is a board certified children’s dental specialist. She has the unique ability to relate to kids. Dr. Wakefield is passionate about helping children of all ages maintain a healthy and beautiful smile by establishing a positive attitude towards dentistry.

Dr. Wakefield was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri- Columbia in 1995. Dr. Wakefield attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2000. After dental school, she continued her dental education and attended Howard University in Washington D.C. She was elected chief resident in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and received her Specialty Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry in 2002. In 2011, she was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from Howard University for her commitment to community service and the profession.

Dr. Wakefield enjoys teaching as well as her full time clinical practice. She was also a faculty member of Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Wakefield is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association as well as the Greater St. Louis Dental Society. She has volunteered her dental services to meet the needs of children in other countries such as Nicaragua and Jamaica. In November 2010, Dr. Wakefield traveled to China, and India in 2012 as a Delegate Ambassador with the People to People program.

Dr. Wakefield is also active in her church and once served as a youth Sunday school teacher. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family, travel, and watch movies.

Dr. Wakefield pledges to provide all children with outstanding dental care in the safest, effective, efficient, and enthusiastic manner possible. Dr. Wakefield is interested in promoting dental awareness for both children and their parents. She wants your child to have the most pleasant experience so as to achieve the benefits of healthy teeth and gums for a lifetime!

Dr. Emily Elster

Dr. Emily Elster is a board certified dentist specializing in general dentistry. Dr. Elster believes in a personalized approach to dentistry, placing patient care and comfort as her main priority. Delivering quality care and an excellent patient experience are extremely important to her. Dr. Elster loves forming lasting relationships with her patients, and truly values the trust and mutual respect these relationships foster.

Dr. Elster attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for her undergraduate degree and completed her doctorate of dental medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 2009. In addition to her formal education, Dr. Elster has attended and continues to seek out many opportunities for advanced education in all areas of the dental industry to better serve her patients.

Dr. Elster has lived in St. Louis for the past 10 years. She currently resides in South St. Louis City with her husband and three small children. In her free time, she enjoys running and spending time with her family, especially having fun new adventures with her kids.

Dr. Elster is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association, as well as the Missouri Dental Association and Greater St. Louis Dental Association.
